2. Camera Permission

To identify insects, WhatTheBug? requires permission to access your device's camera. This permission is used only for the following purpose:

• To allow you to take a picture of an insect that you wish to identify.

The app cannot access your camera without your direct action (i.e., you pressing the button to take a picture within the app). We do not access your photo library or any other files on your device.

3. How We Handle Your Photos

The photos you take within WhatTheBug? are used as follows:

• For AI Identification: The image is sent to our AI model for the sole purpose of identifying the insect. The image is processed by the model and is not stored on our servers or shared with any third parties.
• For Your Collection: If you choose to save an identified insect card, the photo you took is saved as part of that card. This collection is stored locally on your device only. We do not have access to your saved collection.

4. Accuracy of Information

The insect identification and related information provided by our AI are for educational and informational purposes. While we strive for accuracy, we cannot guarantee that the identification is 100% correct. Always exercise caution and do not rely on this information for critical decisions, such as determining if an insect is venomous.

5. Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The app is designed to be safe and anonymous for all users.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
